SAINT JOSEPH'S UNIVERSITY
Hagan Arena Video Upgrades
Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) in Philadelphia, PA needed to provide an upgraded video control room system within Hagan Arena, the home to Saint Joseph's men's and women's basketball games. The Hawks play in the Atlantic-10 league, which requires all 13 schools in the league to send a live stream of their basketball games to be distributed on the Atlantic-10 Digital Network.
Over the years AVT had worked with SJU to put together camcorder packages for field use and a few pieces in the control room, but it was not a complete system. The first stage of the Hagan Arena video upgrade ensured SJU had a complete end to end HD production system. AVT worked with SJU representatives to implement some of their current equipment into the design and integrated new equipment all while simplifying signal flow and routing throughout the arena. The next phase consisted of providing equipment and installation services to facilitate Dante audio networking between the courtside announcer’s location and the control room and the design and build of a new mobile VidCaster Production rack.
“We’ve been working with AVT since 2007 when we started with just a TriCaster Studio and a camcorder to produce games. As our production needs grew, we felt we could rely on the relationship we’ve built with Mike and his team at AVT to provide us the solutions we needed to take our productions to the next level.”
