Bensalem Township Turns to AVT to Upgrade Council Chambers
When Bensalem Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania decided it was time to upgrade their Township Council Chambers they turned to Applied Video Technology (AVT). After working with AVT for over a decade on other projects ranging from digital signage, public access TV, and video production systems, Deron Miller, Bensalem Township’s Production and Media Manager knew he could turn to AVT to get the completely integrated audio visual system at the budget he needed.
The purpose of the council chamber upgrades was to provide sound and video reinforcements and multimedia support within the room as well as improve the quality of the recording to enhance public meetings and broadcasts. To do this, AVT designed a system around two, Sony 5000 lumen projectors and two Da-Lite electric screens to enhance viewing while in the chamber room.
JBL column array speakers were installed above the dais to create an ideal listening experience for both the chamber and audience members. A Shure conferencing system was also integrated into the room audio for with auto-talk, push to talk and hold to talk features, all controlled at the council’s discretion. Each system mic also has built in speakers for sound reinforcement for chamber members.
The entire system is controlled by an Extron distribution and control system either through a 7” wall mount TouchLink Pro TouchPanel or an iPad app to allow Bensalem staff to make adjustments as necessary.
Applied Video provided all training, as built, signal flow and elevation drawings after the project was completed and the system is covered under an AVT Service Block Contract.
“We are currently using this room for Township Trainings, Council Zoning Hearing Boards, Planning Commissioning Meetings and press conferences.” Said Miller. “As always, it was a pleasure to work with AVT on this project. We have been using them for over 10 years and have and would continue to recommend their services to any township looking to update their board room.”
